It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform everyone that D.E. \"Crazy Doc\" Wirick passed away on Aug. 25, 2008. For those of you who might not remember Doc he was an ABATE member of Shadow Mountain & Phoenix Chapters. Doc was also a MMA Phoenix District member, and an American Legion member of Post 105. Doc was 64 years young when he was set free to continue his life in the hereafter. Doc had been confined to a wheel chair for the past several years, but hardly ever missed a ABATE or MMA meeting. It was not easy for Doc to attend meetings and events, as he had to depend on public transportation to get around. Doc was always ready to help in anyway he could. He loved the biker community. I talked to Doc's long time friend and companion Nakita tonight, she told me that Doc passed quietly at home from cardio vascular disease. Nakita also told me that she was making the arrangements for Doc to be Cremated, and then would be planning a celebration of Doc's life. Nikita will advise when the details are available.  \n"); document.write("

Doc was a highly decorated medic, his helicopter was shot down numerous times in Viet Nam and every time Doc walked away with only minor injuries. Doc also earned 2 Master Degree's in Business and Theology.

Thanks for sharing this with us, everyone should realize Kingman is  not unique and this could be the start of a statewide crackdown on bike nights.  We will discuss this more at our meeting on the the. In the mean time consider this incident when attending a 'bike night'. Also if we could get some anti discrimination forms filled out concerning this incident we can pursue this legally. Richard Lester has assured  me there will be an attorney present at our next meeting. Let's give him something to do! We may want to take a ride to Kingman in the near future.

Hey All,

On  Thursday 08/28/2008 in Kingman Az at the Sportsman Bar on Andy Devine a Hells Angels sponsored bike night was raided by a number of  law enforcement agencies. Hells Angels, Desert Road Riders, Devils Disciples,  A.R.M and many supporters have gathered at the Sportsman for Bike Night.  Over the last few weeks DPS( AKA Gang Task Force) has been making there  presence known by walk thru and searching participants of the event. On  Thursday August 28, the matter escalated into a full on shut down of the  event by state and local law enforcement. DPS, AZ Alcohol Board, Kingman  PD, Mohave County Sheriff Dept. approximately 20 officers in armor and riot  gear along with K9 officers, invaded the Sportsman blocking bikes and  lining the alley ways and side walks in a manner as described by a Devils  Disciple as Old Russia and SS type behavior. The owner of the Sportsman was  detained in his office for more than an hour returning to the bar counter  many times to retrieve paperwork. As a Hells Angel asked the Kingman PD if  everyone has to leave the  officer responded with you can stay but without  your colors. The owner also has passed on that the bar is now a No Colors  bar because of the threats made by Az Alcohol Board to shut down his  license. No one was arrested even after K9s alerted officers on two  bikes. The bikes were searched and nothing was found. An officer said that  the K9 may have alerted them to the wrong bikes!! More to come on this soon.

There is something I've noticed about many riders, both male and female, and that is the fact that many of them wear jeans that are too short to wear when they ride. It looks ridiculous when you see someone on a bike who's jeans are practically up to the top of their boots. A good tip is to buy jeans that are 2\" longer than you normally would buy so that when you're sitting on the bike, the jeans are still down around your boots. It's just natural for pant legs to rise when you sit down. Besides, if your pants are a few inches longer it helps the wind from blowing up your leg but mostly it keeps you from looking like a dork. Remember the geek we all made fun of in school for wearing his pants too short?

I came across a product that I never knew was out there. Maybe you have seen these things but I had not. I was at Buddy Stubbs ( I dont know if all Harley shops carry them or not.) A sales girl showed me this product that blew me away. They are called EZ Towels. They come 50 to a bag and even have alittle container like a roll of coins to keep them in. They are about the size of a nickel only about 1/2\" thick. When you pour water on them they expand and expand and expand to the final size of 9\" x 10\" Even if the water is not cold they make a cool rag to wipe yourself down with if you are overheating or just grimy from the road. They only cost around $10 Check them out. I'm sold.
