Performance on the Road
by Joe Ciappi

For anyone that knows me knows that my R1 is perfection on two wheels. Recently I had the pleasure of taking a 2005 Yamaha V-Star 1100 custom for a 500 hundred miles plus ride.

This bike only has a Dyna Jet kit and Shogun Street Sweeper pipes, for great performance and sound. To describe this metric cruiser is simple, it has a low seat height for the short and tall rider, very light and agile in the corners, the torque is unbelievable on this cruiser. The V-Star was happy to cruise down the 101 freeway at 95 mph and didn’t hesitate to go for more. This bike is a very comfortable motorcycle and the handling was awesome in the corners on the way to Tortilla Flats. Even some of the sport bike riders were no match for the V-Star. A great ride and great handling piece of Yamaha engineering.

If you haven’t ridden a Yamaha V-Star 1100, you won’t be disappointed. If you own a Yamaha V-Star 1100 my hat is off to you, with all the millions of after market parts you can get for this machine, you can make yours one of a kind.

In short if you ride a sport bike don’t under estimate a good rider on a real good cruiser. Remember we’ve had enough issues with the people in the four-wheeled cages not paying attention, so it doesn’t matter what someone rides just as long as he/she rides. Thank you BIG for letting me do this article and remember just ride.
