Tips on Tire, Oil and Light Maintenance

My name is Tim Brewer. I have been honored by being asked to share my thoughts as one of the newest contributing writers for Biker Information Guide. In these articles I will try to cover useful tips, techniques and new product information focused on oil, tires, brakes and basic maintenance of your bike.  As a new contributing writer to Bikers Information Guide I thought I would take on an old topic of tire balancing with a new alternative and give it my 2 cents…Dyna Beads

Dyna Beads™ are a new product for motorcycle tire balancing made by Innovative Balancing. (www.innovativebalancing.com).   Dyna Beads very small, high-density ceramic beads, that continuously balances your tires as you ride and replace the need for any other weight on the rim or spokes. The beads are distributed by centrifugal force and position dependent on the balance requirements of the individual tire. The beads are placed inside the tire or tube through the valve stem. Based on the size of the tire, you add from 1-3 oz of beads per tire. 

So do they work?  We have only been testing these for just over a month now but initial results are all thumbs up. We placed Dyna Bead in tires ranging from 100s to 180s, fronts & rears, tested them through many types of riding conditions and speed ranges. Our initial conclusion they really seem to work. The rides have been very smooth at all speed ranges, in corners and on rough roads.

The customers that have been a part of the test have all reported very good results.  One of our favorite quotes is “I am not sure how they are at high speed but they work great at 138 mph.”  We will report back as we have more miles as to the wear reduction claims.
