Building
Bikes... by Deb Building a Custom Bike? |
You’ve probably been riding some form of a stock bike for awhile now, so you’ve been there, seen them on your rides, and watched plenty of those biker T.V. shows, but now you must get down to the details. Where do you want to ride your Custom Bike? Do you want to ride around town, or do you want to ride out of state? Think of suspension, or lack of it, and then decide what style of bike you want. Do you want an Old School Chopper or Pro Street? A Hard tail, or a Softail? Drag bars, or Ape hangers? There are plenty of details to work out beforeyou actually begin the process of finding the right shop to build your bike. When checking out the different shops, you will want to talk with the builders. They all have different personalities & styles. You need to feel comfortable. Some builders prefer to have you involved in the process, others do not. It is a relationship youneed to be confident in, as the process can take months, or years, depending on your wallet, and technical difficulty of your dreambike. They should be able to show you their past builds, so you can see their workmanship, and then there is always “word of mouth”. Bikers talk, so ask those questions when you’re hanging out. This is a big decision. Take your time. Debby Deb Radloff Classic Ironworks
