Now that you have the fever your next question is: “What is the right bike for me?” To make sure you get the right bike, you will want be able to test ride and that means having your endorsement. If you don’t have one you can take a safety riding course; successful completion of this course will fulfill your requirements for the endorsement. Next, you will want to make sure your financing is in order, being pre-approved makes the process much more fun and helps to make the selection process easier. Now you are ready to go bike shopping. While shopping, look at a bike starting from the top of the mirrors downward. Then look at it from the front fender to the license plate. Consider what accessories are on it and what is available. When you find one you like, sit on it and stand it up. How does it feel? Does the center of gravity feel balanced? Is the seat comfortable? How does the seat position and the bars feel? If you feel like throwing the doors wide open and hitting the road, you have just found your bike. Here’s the fun part, take a demo for a ride or rent one, you’ll be a more informed consumer.
