Getting Your Ride in Shape

The riding season is well on its way for 2006. Riders are scrambling to get their rides in shape for all the up coming events. For the most part the majority of the seasoned riders know well in advance which event they plan to partake, especially the people that read AZBIG on a regular basis. As we do here at Carefree Custom Cycles.

Preventive maintenance is very important to the rider & or passenger. Most daily riders have a good sense of their bike and can tell well in advance if they have a problem in the making. Such as, handling (tires or suspension) or a new noise (motor-trans-chain or belt). A new rattle noise generally is an indication of a loose fastener or clamp.

Here at Carefree we have found that the best method for finding and repairing most problems (brakes fuel & oil lines, fasteners, etc.) is applying your favorite wax or polish to the entire bike. Therefore you actually have your eyes and hands on every part of the bike as you wipe her down. This method of cleaning and inspecting will give you the opportunity to make immediate repairs on any minor problems or make arrangement for more major repairs.  This should give you a trouble free and enjoyable day of riding.
