Performance Talk
by Rick Riddle

Hey everyone! This is Rick Riddle with Carefree Custom Cycles, Inc. located in downtown Glendale. Some of you may know me and some of you won't either way cool. I've been building customs in the Valley for about 8 years. Most of the bikes I build are V-twins but as a rider I have a passion for anything with two wheels. I was approached recently by Kimmy and she asked me if I would write a performance piece for BIG. This last year I became the proud owner of a 1991 GSXR 1100. When it was stock probably produced 110 horse power to the rear wheel. It has gone through a lot of changes since then. For example, the swing arm was extended 6 inches the rear wheel was replaced with a 17 inch slick. Also, the entire body was shit canned and now sports a fiber glass body equipped with a 1/4 gallon fuel cell. The carbs were replaced with a set of electron carbs and velocity stacks. The motor now has mild cams and a piston kit. Now it’s a 1260cc and extremely pissed off! The stock ignition was replaced with all Dyna components and a two stage kit.

This allows me to launch out of the hole at over 10,000 RPM's.

This bike’s best time is a 9.60 at over 130 MPH in the quarter mile. I have made improvements but it is obvious that I'm still competitive so I am not going to give up all my secrets. Hope to see some of you on the road and on the track.

However, please remember street racing is not safe and it does not mean anything until you line it up behind the lights and get your time slip to prove it.

Safe Riding, Rick aka Brother Rotten
